6/20/10- Tyler Linders went to the streets of Willow racetrack in Rosamond, CA to race with Willow Springs Motorcycle Club (WSMC) and sets a track record! Tyler gets down to his fastest laptime ever, in practice, at this track a 1:21.7. He ran his Honda RS125 in the 250 GP class for the first race. Tyler reaches 1st place by the third lap and wins the race, gapping the next rider by seven seconds and setting the track record in the 250 GP class. In the 125 race he battles Willy the entire race, and multiple four strokes. On the last lap at the end of the straight, with Willy in front of him, Tyler stuck it up the inside to pass two guys going three wide into turn two. He completed the pass, held the other riders off and won his second race of the day by .4 seconds.

5/8-9/10 Butonwillow California WERA: We think part of the 125 problem is electrical. We borrow a complete electrical system from our friends , the Coffins. Tyler practices with the 125 and it isn't missing. Tyler focuses on the Moriwaki for the 20 lap solo and sets a new personal best at 1:59:331. Having never broken into the 59's Tyler was very excited for Sunday. On Sunday it is noticeably windier and cooler. We work on the 125 jetting and it looks perfect. In the race, there are no electrical problems, but we are still down on horsepower. Tyler is doing a great job of making time in the corners, only to give it back in the straight. The Moriwaki is a 250 4 stroke and at WERA runs in a class against 650 and 450 4 strokes, so we are giving up some power. He finishes 9th out of 22 people, but had a frustrating race. He is stuck behind a 650 that is faster on the straight, but parks it in the corners. Tyler finally gets by the 650 rider on the last lap 4 corners from the end and is barely able to hold him at the finish line by .020 seconds.
4/17-18/10 Phoenix Arizona USGPRU: This is Tyler's first visit to Phoenix, but he is very excited to learn he qualifies less than a tenth off track record holder Peter Lenz in the Moriwaki class. In the race Tyler battles with Andre Ochs and on the third lap they have a breaking duel going into turn 1. Tyler sticks it up the inside and makes the pass to bring it home in 3rd place for another podium. The 125 breaks a ring in practice so Ty gets no practice time on it. Tyler is finished on the 4th lap, when the 125 suddenly dies and won't restart.
4/3-4/10 Vegas WERA: Tyler sets his personal best 1:26:2 in the solo 20 with his Moriwaki. His 125 is still noticeably down on power. He battles with Tucker Lancaster and puts a pass in turn 3 on him going 3 wide into the left hander. Tyler is up on the curb and makes the pass stick. Only to get motored two turns later. They pass each other a few more times but in the end Tyler's bike couldn't hang.
3/20-21/10 Buttonwillow, California USGPRU: After numerous 125 problems, I decide to buy a Moriwaki. The truck driver who delivered the bike from the east coast was running late, so we met him on the way to the races and consequently we arrive a bit late to the track. Our plan was to send Tyler on the Moriwaki for practice, while I fixed the radiator on his 125 that started leaking while heat cycling his rebuilt 125 motor. Well guess what, the Moriwaki had a leaking radiator too. So I grabbed a radiator from a friends back up bike and it leaks too. At this point I said to Tyler, "Why don't we pack up, I'll save $500 in entry fees and we'll drive to Willow Springs to race on Sunday. Tyler said, "Dad yoou told me if I gave you 100%, you would give me 100%, and right now you aren't giving me a 100%." I was really proud of him, and that snapped me out of my funk. We missed all of Saturday's practice, but the highlight of the weekend was a 3rd place podium with the Moriwaki and a very nice trophy from USGPRU.
2/20-21/10 Willow Springs: Tyler comes in 3rd place in the 125 and 250 classes at the Willow Springs Motorcycle Club, but is down on horsepower since the seizure at Vegas.
2/6-7/10 Talledaga Alabama: Tyler had the fortune of feeling like a MotoGP star as he flew into Nashville and the Boucher family picked him up for a WERA race. I rented a RS125 for him and he went to a new track, with a new bike, and no dad around. Unfortunately, the bike had a faulty float seat and was flooded so it wouldn't start for the solo 20. Then on Sunday, the bike kept missing all day. Tyler did get to see what it feels like to ride in the snow and rain and got to make friends with Jake Lewis, and Garret and Grayson Gerloff.
1/30-31/10 Las Vegas: Tyler looked great at the beginning as the 3rd 125 in the 20 lap Lightweight Solo class. Unfortunately, the bike seized on lap 16, but Tyler quickly pulled in the clutch and prevented any highsides. Rob, Tyler's dad, worked until two am swapping a motor from another bike into Tyler's bike and then broke in the engine that night. The next day the bike wouldn't run properly. Mike Ochs volunteered Andre's backup bike to run. This bike had a different brand of tires, brakes, and suspension.
1/10/10: Tyler had a successful first race at Auto Club Speedway before his Honda RS125 broke down at the start of his last race causing a DNS (Did Not Start). Read what Next Moto Champion wrote about him.
New to the 125 class were Next Moto Champion Riders Hunter Coffin , Daytona Anderson , Tyler Linders (www.tylerlinders.com) and Aaron Villasenor. On new bikes and racing ACS for the first time our riders had a good showing. Coffin placed 9th, behind Aaron Villasenor who finished in 7th while Daytona Anderson placed 5th. The best of the newcomers was 13 yr old Tyler Linders who after his bike nearly stalled on the start had to work his way from last place to finish in 4th place. All three riders finishing in front of Linders raced in this class and on this track last year which made him the fastest rookie of the day, congrats Tyler.
